Legal sources — IPTelvza

What the app can legitimately play, and what it does not do.

Lire en français

IPTelvza is a player: it plays the source that you give it, in Settings → Sources (M3U link or Xtream credentials). Here are sources whose use is legitimate and documented.

Your Freebox router's playlist

Your router's channels, from the router's Wi-Fi

The operator publishes the official playlist of its router: http://mafreebox.freebox.fr/freeboxtv/playlist.m3u. It is only reachable from the router's own Wi-Fi. Source: assistance.free.fr/articles/99 (in French).

Two things to know:

A network TV tuner

HDHomeRun

An HDHomeRun network TV tuner publishes its channel list at http://<ip>/lineup.m3u, where <ip> is the tuner's address on your network. Source: info.hdhomerun.com/info/http_api.

A server at home

Tvheadend, Channels DVR…

A server you run at home, such as Tvheadend or Channels DVR, can expose your channels and recordings as a playlist. The exact URL path is found in the software publisher's documentation: refer to it.

Your own videos

On a NAS

Your own videos, stored on a NAS, can be gathered in an M3U playlist and played by IPTelvza.

A demo playlist

Open films from the Blender Foundation

To try the app without setting anything up, add this playlist: https://iptelvza.com/demo/films-libres.m3u. It only contains open films from the Blender Foundation, released under Creative Commons licenses. IPTelvza hosts no copy: each entry points to the official file on download.blender.org (these files are large).

Logos and trademarks, including Blender's, are excluded from these licenses.

What IPTelvza does not do

IPTelvza provides no content, no channels and no lists, and recommends none. Cheap “all channels” subscriptions are illegal: do not buy them.
